What began as a travel lifestyle concept has grown into something broader: a platform for discovery. That includes outdoor experiences, destination inspiration, community events, editorial storytelling, and future offerings that bring design and adventure together.

WHY DRFTER WAS FOUNDED
I founded drfter because I believe people need more meaningful ways to travel, gather, and reconnect. My own journey with travel started about 11 years ago, and it changed the way I saw the world and myself.
As a journalist and storyteller, I wrote for publications like GQ, Details, and Men’s Health. After losing my partner in 2016, travel and time in nature became part of what helped me heal. Being in serene, beautiful places gave me space to reflect, reconnect, and find my way back to myself. That journey later led to being recognized by Forbes as one of the top Black travel writers, and it helped shape the vision for drfter.
